Up at 6:30 ...tai chi on the top deck. We were able to see the sunrise before the clouds rolled back in.

7:00 breakfast then onto the tender to go to the cave. It was immense... 1 sq. km in the limestone. It was amazing and very crowded .
The cave was discovered in 1902 by a French lady who was looking for and following a monkey. These monkeys were numerous in population however now there are very few left. This is because they are a delicacy in Asia and people pay $3000 US for one. They put the monkey on the table, slit his throat and feed the brains to the children. It is said to make the children smarter.
One of the legends of the cave is a fisherman wanted to marry a young girl. Her family was against it so they went into the cave to live and hide. She was afraid as it was so dark. They had no fire so he told her that he would make light and when she saw the light she was to run to the opening. He cut out his heart for light and she went out without knowing what happened to him. Every day for a very long time she came back to the cave opening with their baby waiting for him.

After the cave, back to the boat. Time to tidy up then a cooking demonstration on how to make fried spring rolls. We all made some.
Then lunch, again huge amounts, including our spring rolls 😊
We went back to the harbor, back on the bus and back to Hanoi by 5:00.
It was sad to say goodbye to our fellow passengers. In 2 days we had become like family.
We picked up our luggage at the hotel and backpacked to our new place, about 10 minute walk.
Even with the cloudy weather it was a wonderful 2 days. And a great way to celebrate our 18th anniversary ❤️
